This is not a shambles.

The Yanks are in charge? Oh, you mean McDonalds and Coca Cola.

Here's a shambles for you. The Inspector gadget blog, followed and commented on by many an old bill and bullies, millions of them over the years, has just been discovered to be a fraud. The real Inspector gadget, "hero of the streets" is a fraudster and is currently sitting in gaol on credit card charges.
This blog is followed and commented on by home secretaries and chief commisioners! The telegraph has been using it for quotes for years!
And now they have to call the army in to marshall an athletic event, after the punters have queud for days at heathrow immigration. It's all coming apart and I haven't laughed so much since watching Murdoch on the Leveson enquiry. On our usually busy council estate in the west country we haven't seen a cop for weeks (thankfully)!
If this is the yanks in charge then its more tits up than my gran doing the hokey cokey.

I work in central London and I believe I am currently much more likely to be shot by some trigger-happy cop/FBI/CIA operative than be blown up by fundamentalist Muslims. Wonder if I can get odds from the bookies.
