Butler-Sloss sums it all up.

Lady Butler-Sloss thinks that only a pillar of the establishment such as herself would be capable of chairing the independent enquiry into child sex abuse. The horrendous old god botherer seems to be under the impression that only the sons and daughters of high court judges are capable of organising a piss up in a brewery let alone something as sensitive and important as this enquiry. There are of course thousands of men and women from all walks of life more than capable of doing the job. In one short statement Butler-Sloss sums up everything that is wrong with our forelock tugging society. The privileged minority who consider themselves the establishment are there because of the self-serving, self-perpetuating  system that they are a part of.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. I know this woman and know that she would have done an excellent job. She was pilloried by the BBC led media. Make no mistake, she has the balls to get at the truth, not produce a piece of crap like Levenson or the victim led bollocks of the MacPherson Report. Still, her remarks set her up for those who want the inquiry diminished, and the left have bought the class angle.

Milk wood must be going through a spell of bad weather. Afraid your wrong on this Doc. Her whole integrity was called to account because of her brother's poor handling of previous inquiries.Would she sully his ineptitude? The establishment is quickly emptying cupboards of skeletons (literally) whilst holding its cards close to its chest. She did the right thing. The class angle matters in this instance because we're investigating rich and powerful people, the 1%, the establishment.
The "establishment" encouraged, brandished and utilised J.Savil as a "good egg"for 40 years, have any of them come forward to apologise for this patronage? No, instead they deny any knowledge of paedophilia and instead are burning their diaries.
It says something for her that she realised her position was impossible and resigned.
