The loss of a legend. End of an era. We will not see the like ....etc.etc.

Well, that's it. From now on it's all pan fried bullshit garnished with parmesan shavings, drizzled with extra virgins or something and consumed to a background track of champagne bottles rolling out of taxis and the braying laughter of the chattering classes. Details here. Bugger!

Everytime I think of jellied eels, whelks or pie and mash my stomach creates a space expecting these London delicacies to fill it. Just thinking about this old London soul food creates an apperetif. Tubby Isaac and Petticoat Lane were a Sunday morning must and my Gran shouting as I was leaving at 7 to go down the Lane "Don't bring back none of them Brick Lane puppies neither". Only if you were really there would you know what I'm talking about; bit by bit we're falling off the radar.
